Well, since I've been posting so much CK fanart I should probably give some sort of explanation for those of you who haven't heard of it... it's a computer game series from the early 90s - fairly standard 2D sidescroller gameplay-wise, but I like the characters and story. ^_^
The characters, from left to right:
Billy Blaze, aka Commander Keen - eight-year-old genius and two times saviour of Earth.
Jax - he's an original character of mine, for a fanfic which may or may not get written. (Not an original species, though - he's a Vorticon; they're the main enemies in the first trilogy of games.) According to my elaborated version of the game storyline, he met up with Keen at some point during Episode 3, set on the Vorticon home world. He's a year or two younger than Keen.
Princess Lindsey - she appears in Episode 4 and gives Keen hints. Occasionally. She only gets two appearances in the whole game, and one of them is in a secret area... she deserves more screentime, IMO.
Spot - Billy's pet yorp, found on Mars in Episode 1. Unfortunately gets left at home while Keen is off saving the galaxy, but at least he gets some appearances in the story screens...
Mortimer McMire, aka the Grand Intellect - once Billy's schoolyard tormentor, now his deadly archrival. Currently plotting to blow up the Universe.

Oh, it´s just nice to see fan art of my first and one of my favourite pc-games. I know everyone on this picture, eccpt of the vorticon. I started with the 4th game, and later I played the 1st, and thought "These dogs are really...dangerous...O.o" you´re drawing very well, and Commander Keen. 2 Things to look in your gallery. But I think I´ve seen your piccus already on a CK-Fanboard... :3 very nice style, cute and not too cute.
Oh, it's been so many years since I played "Goodbye Galaxy" and its sequels. Where's the Dopefish?! You gotta have the Dopefish with Keen!
Did you ever reach the level in DOOM II with the dead Keens? That was a morbid tribute.

The memories come flooding back...sneaking to the computer in the wee hours for "just one more level", rocking to the squeaky soundcard music, the joy of picking up items...this is way sweet. I didn't even expect to find Keen addicts on here!

Now it's time for August 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it! Fave Fave Fave! My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations. Artists need to be supported. So don't be shy!
Here's the Menu per Category :
Digital Paintings & Drawings | Mixed Media | PhotoManipulations | 3-Dimensional | Vector & Vexels | Photography | Traditional Paintings & Drawings | Artisan Crafts
Feature of weekly favorites found by me as well as treasures from my thumbshare! [link] Share your digital art thumbs! Visit this forum thread now and please help by passing on this link in your own journals! [link]
